Aylon Herbet
Business Development Manager

Aylon began life in South Africa before moving to New Zealand aged just 15. While at the University of Otago he landed himself a part time summer role that turned into a year-and-a-half with the Apple division of Renaissance. From there a move into editorial beckoned, which saw him write about the videogame industry for Gameplanet, Stuff and others (which he still does as a hobby). After that Aylon entered the world of Media and became a TV planner and buyer. Outside of the nine to five, he lists people, gaming, computers, writing, film, music and stand-up comedy - in that order – as his main interests. Aylon’s claim to fame is that a customer once said he had given her "the best Apple experience she’d had outside of New York!"

Editorial

Sophie Allcock
Business Editor

Sophie traded the smoggy London rat-race and her position as editor of international business title Hospitality magazine for the great New Zealand outdoors in late 2009. Fidgety without the pressure of deadlines, she was soon on the hunt for a new challenge, joining Action Media as Editor of IT Brief, The Channel & Telecommunications Review in August 2010. With a background in publishing and marketing in tow, Sophie fuels her eccentric one-woman crusade to eradicate shoddy grammar and transform reader experiences with a costly addiction to custard and red wine. If not gallivanting on the netball court, you'll find her chomping her way around Auckland's restaurants, honing her latest curry recipe, or exorcising her inner geek with a crossword.

Jonathan Cotton
NetGuide Editor

Jonathan CottonWhile Jonathan began his career in radio, it was not long before an interest in Edgar Allan Poe and sleeping in led him to the University of Canterbury to study English literature. After working briefly as a tutor therein, he operated as a glorified spell checker for the Realtor before taking on a busy writing role with Channel Publishing. Looking for a new challenge, Jonathan accepted a position as editorial coordinator at Multimedia Publishing, before finally making the move, family in tow, to Auckland, where he is currently editor of NetGuide. His interests include music, voraciously half-reading novels and compulsively adding to an already oversized t-shirt collection.

Chris Leggett

Chris Leggett

Chris joined the team at Action Media in late 2008. Chris has even worked as a captioning producer at TVNZ, preparing subtitles for hearing-impaired viewers. Gavin Ogden
News Editor

Gavin comes from an entertainment and consumer writing background, having previously been editor of the Official Xbox Magazine & ComputerAndVideogames.com in London. He moved from his home in Manchester City, England to Auckland in December 2009 in the hope of less rain and more sun - the jury's still out on the rain front. When he's not sat in the front of a PC monitor he can usually be found sat in front of the PlayStation. Or stuck in Auckland traffic.
